직접 참여하고 기획하는 앤틱 마켓”이라는
세계적으로도 유례없는 형식을 접목함으로써,
앙카라를 글로벌 문화교류의 허브로 도약시키고자
본 프로젝트가 기획되었습니다.
전통적인 플리마켓이나 바자르와는 명확히 구분되는 이 행사는,

Ankara is the capital of Turkey and a political, administrative, and diplomatic hub, hosting numerous diplomatic missions. However, it has long been criticized for lacking cultural tourism content, especially compared to Istanbul.
Despite this, Ankara boasts a vibrant monthly traditional antique flea market, demonstrating its citizens’ strong artistic sensibility and interest in antique culture. This event is planned as part of an initiative to elevate this local foundation to a global level.
The Global Antique Market is more than a marketplace—it is a cultural diplomacy platform and a nation branding stage where countries engage with one another through antiques that embody memories of time and traces of civilization.
In particular, this event allows embassies to directly participate by exhibiting or selling symbolic antiques from their countries, offering a unique format distinct from conventional exhibition- or performance-based cultural diplomacy programs. With the innovative concept of “curating time through diplomacy,” Ankara can emerge as a leading city of cultural diplomacy.
Antique items presented or recommended by embassies will serve as “mini museums,” showcasing each country’s identity, philosophy, artistry, folklore, and industrial history—offering visitors both deep inspiration and meaningful insights.
